Nanook
A furry vision of light,
now dancing in the Northern Lights —
Nanook was never just a dog,
but a happy soul filling a space.
A wet nose, unfrozen,
smelling the years of joy
and awaiting new ones,
rolling on pine needles.
Loving everything today,
alongside Jon and Jonna,
kindred spirits at play.
This was always coming,
but it was never goodbye.
Still with us in light —
a star in the sky.

Nanook sadly passed away on 30th of May. He was the companion to Jon and Jonna Jinton who explain all in THIS INSTAGRAM POST. Jon also wrote one of the most powerful pieces I've ever read HERE.
First of all I would like to say that I have used a screen recording of Jonna's incredible YouTube video WHICH CAN BE FOUND HERE.
In no way am I claiming any copyright to this background video footage and will take it down should Jonna and Jon request it so.
But I just had to follow my soul. When I first saw this video I could sense, as Jonna did, that Nanook's Earth days were coming to an end. It is one of the most, probably the most beautiful video Jonna and Nanook have made together. It struck me, and now with the emotional news about Nanook I just HAD TO CREATE THIS PIECE.
"THIS" (soul happiness, especially in times of loss) is what I am all about. Living through the soul. And my soul is literally exploding with so much love for Nanook and the pain that Jonna and Jon, and everyone connected to Nanook feels right now.
I just hope my poem in some way brings comfort at such a time. I hope it helps keep Nanook's love alive in the way I, and I'm sure you, feel it too. Love does not die. And Nanook is sheer love!!!
Thank you Nanook for letting me be part of your life, even if digitally, your gentle ways always helped me in some way and filled my heart with love. I love you. Run free................
