The Word

🌱 Seeded by CJB today

She saw the lies in her tears.
Words blurring as she blinked.

The article painted them as truth.
Yet words don’t witness death.
She had been alone with him.

This isn’t what she wanted.
Yesterday, his breath touched her cheek.
Today, a chilling memory lingers.

But in that pain her soul awakens.
She now knows only one word speaks the truth—
Love. And in the wind she hears him whispering it.

Her heart replies,
pulsing with the rising sun,
as silence touches her growing shadow.

Today she will be,
everything she is—
and more.

Finding The Word When Grief Strikes

"She saw the lies in her tears."

That line from "The Word" captures a truth so many of us know: in the immediate aftermath of loss, even our own emotions can feel like a blur, a chaotic article painting everything in shades of untruth. We search for answers, for meaning, for anything that can explain the void left by a loved one’s final breath. But as the poem says, "Words don’t witness death." No explanation, no eulogy, no well-meaning platitude can truly articulate the raw, isolating reality of being "alone with him."

Yesterday, their breath touched your cheek. Today, a chilling memory lingers. This is the brutal honesty of grief. It’s messy. It’s painful. And it's exactly where your soul begins to awaken.

The Soul Act of Acknowledging the Pain

It takes immense courage to sit with that pain, to not shy away from the grief that feels like a heavy shadow. We often try to escape it, to numb it, to rush through it. But as the poem reveals, "in that pain her soul awakens." This isn't about finding a "silver lining" in loss; it's about recognizing that profound experiences—even the most agonizing—are pathways to deeper connection with your soul.

Your Soul Knows The Word

When all other words fail, when the world seems to blur, "she now knows only one word speaks the truth—LOVE."

This is the ultimate Soul Act. Love is the anchor. It's the "meat, the marrow, the bone" that grounds you when EVERYTHING else feels like it’s dissolving. It's the enduring connection, the whisper in the wind that reminds you their presence is not truly gone, but transformed. It connects you to The BoE in a powerful, undeniable way.

Acts of Love in Grief

So, what do you do with this awakening? How do you live through the devastating "today" after such loss?

  • Act with Memory: Replay those cherished moments. Feel the echo of their laugh. This isn't dwelling; it's an act of loving remembrance that keeps their spirit alive within you. A soul power that fuels living a grateful life.
  • Act with Self-Compassion: Grief is exhausting. Give yourself permission to feel, to rest, to be gentle with your own heart. This is a profound act of love for yourself, allowing you to sustain through the storm.
  • Act with Presence: Just as the poem ends with "Today she will be, everything she is—and more," lean into your own "today." You don't need to be okay. You just need to be. Feel the pulsing of your heart, hear the rising sun. Every beat, every dawn, is a new opportunity to choose love.
  • Act with Connection: Even though grief can be isolating, let the love you shared radiate outwards. Talk about them. Share their stories. Connect with others who loved them. This is how the ripple effect of love continues.

Grief is a journey, not a destination. But it doesn't have to be a journey of despair. When your heart replies, pulsing with the rising sun, you are choosing to act with your soul. You are honoring their memory, and in doing so, you are choosing to LOVE ✦ EVERYTHING ✦ TODAY. You are choosing to grow, even from the deepest pain, into EVERYTHING you are—and more.

Let this one root and grow 🌱
