Well, there has been an underlying nudging going on for a while. I was fixated for good reason on using "CJB TODAY" as my musical artist name. My book will explain why the "TODAY" term was so apt. But, the universe (& Everything) has other ideas. 🌱 *Today I logged into Spotify to see if my name change had worked...* Well, you know that big "X" and in the game show Family Fortunes and the EEERRGH UGHHH noise it makes when the answer is a NO!? Okay, well here it is: That sound? That’s what the universe—and Spotify—gave me this morning. My *old* artist name was still showing with the new track. 🫨🤯 Turns out, Spotify and Apple Music **won’t** update the old ".DOT" artist name. That’s when my soul awareness slapped me around the face a few times. (Don’t worry—it felt good. No harm done. Kinda tickled.) This was happening for a reason. The universe—okay, *The Body of Everything*—was telling me it’s time to let go of the “TODAY” part in my artist name. Not because it’s not awesome (it *is*—it still powers this blog and a lot of my soul coaching work). But because… To grow a musical identity that can evolve *separately* from my blog and other creations, I needed a clearer name. *Admit it—you were confused.* *CJB.today the blog.* *CJB TODAY the musical artist.* *😵‍💫* *Yeah. I know.* *But hey, that’s the messiness of growing. Some of us take a little longer to reach your height.* Luckily, I’d already been brainstorming—and “[CJB SOUNDS](https://www.cjb.today/cjb-sounds/)” had been calling to me. Sure, it’s not wild or edgy 🌱 but it grew on me. And it made sense for the direction my **alternative soul music** is headed. I empathize with artists navigating the wave of AI and its impact on music. Just like I empathized with musicians back when synthesizers and electronic sounds first arrived—and people thought piano players were done for. They weren’t. The music just *shifted*, and became its own genre. I love AI. I love what it can do when used with *soul* and purpose. Let’s be real—AI isn’t just one thing. AI in a warbot is not AI detecting cancer. Big difference. [**CJB SOUNDS**](https://www.cjb.today/cjb-sounds/) is all about soul. Not just classic soul like Luther Vandross (though I love that too), but *alternative soul*—any music that helps grow your soul. That helps grow your **soul happiness.** (And no, this isn’t sweet syrupy soul—I keep it grounded, earthy, real.) **GET ON WITH IT, CJB!** Okay, okay—so now it’s official: 🌱 The musical artist name that used .(DOT)today is *dead*. And in its place? A new name. A new soul. A new sound. Another nudge from The Body of Everything. Another push… into something even better.
