## The Misunderstood Thoroughbred

Limbs honed to arcs of feral speed,
A gleaming hide, a planted seed
Of doubt, where trust dissolves to scorn—
A man they crave, yet wish unborn.

He stands, a titan's sculpted frame,
Girth and length, a whispered name.
A careless glance, a practiced art,
He plays with hearts, a world apart.

They crown him "Thoroughbred," divine,
Wings primed to soar, a flawless sign.
But I see shadows in his stride,
A soul where truths are forced to hide.

Thoroughbred, a gilded cage,
Where perfect form masks inward rage.
He runs from ghosts, a hollow chase,
A beauty marred, a lost embrace.

***Original First Draft:**

**Limbs curving into perfect shapes*
**Nothing yet rusted*
**Never to be trusted*
**A man...women love...to hate*
**Unless he asks them on a date*

**Such height and strength*
**His girth*
**His length*
**A man...women love...to hate*
**He'll flirt with anyone, a best mate*

**They say he's a thoroughbred*
**Born to fly*
**I say he's confused*
**A living emotional lie*

❤️

***Creator Notes:**

This was inspired by another #vss365 daily prompt word ([#Thoroughbred](https://x.com/hashtag/thoroughbred?src=hashtag%5Fclick&ref=cjb.today)).

I have included my original draft as I think that it helps to show one of the many ways I create my poetry.

I tend to write a first draft which as you can see I then, like a sculptor carves a block of marble, keep carving, I keep going until usually the original poem completely disappears!

Do you do this too? Or is it just me?

Like I say, this is one of many techniques, I get bored and so like to try different methods daily!
