Watching you doze, a tiny blossom,  
head nodding, fighting sleep's gentle pull.  
Your breath, a murmur, secrets untold,  
a smile on closed lips, a contented lull.

Tiny hands, new to this world,  
fists clutching, then releasing their hold.

Years later, a mirrored scene,  
your mother's tears, a story untold.  
A silent plea in the dimming light,  
yet our souls intertwined, a tethered kite.

Distance may separate, but love remains,  
a constant echo, calming life's rains.  
Each night, a whisper, a promise I keep,  
my love a lullaby, carried on your sleep.
