## Doing Life!

Doing life for a crime   
I would never commit  
Mental thorns I T C H I N G  
Wriggling veins S T I T C H I N G  
Purple blood, yearning—  
Expanding the lying  
As D R I P by D R I P  
I feel weaker—today  
  
Clutching my breast I—S Q U E E Z E  
H A R D  
—H A R D E R still  
A tear hears my call   
Races down to help  
Falling to my K N E E S  
  
My H E A R T cries out!  
Because it's been taken  
I feel a shadow of   
former heartbeats   
as the wind  
names the person  
I once loved   
through all seasons  
  
At 2 AM I cannot see the light  
My eyes are blurring with the past  
What will help my soul ignite?

Alone at 2 AM

Awakening

Doing life gives me time  
To sculpt my mind with rhyme  
Embracing the voice of pain

Soul happiness starts today—
